Occupation Journalist
Known for Contributing Editor at Vice Magazine, Documentary Host

Thomas Morton is a journalist and contributing editor for Vice magazine.[1][2][3][4][5] He began interning at Vice in 2004 after graduating from NYU with a degree in English Literature. [6] After becoming a contributing editor, Thomas Morton became VICE News's online editor. During his tenure at the magazine, Thomas wrote first-hand accounts of infiltrating religious cults, competitive binge-eating, living with a Dominican family for a week, and was the first non-Juggalo to attend and report on the Gathering of the Juggalos. He has also covered environmental catastrophes in the Pacific Ocean, the Louisiana Gulf coast, and Brazilian Amazon as well as interviewing rapper and fellow Georgian Young Jeezy. He is a fan of English jangle-pop in the style of groups like Felt and Biff Bang Pow.[7]

Since the beginning of 2014, he has served as a field reporter/host for Noisey's music documentary Noisey Chiraq and Noisey Atlanta.

In early 2016, Vice News started broadcasting its new exclusive-content television channel, VICELAND. Thomas Morton started hosting his long-form, investigative journalism docuseries, Balls Deep (TV Series), which features in-depth investigative pieces focused on a different, specific American subculture in each episode. The uniqueness of the show stems from the fact that Thomas Morton fully immerses himself in each respective subculture, even participating in niche events dedicated to each subculture. [8]
