Thomas Murphy (comedian)

Thomas Murphy (born 24 August 1991) is an Australian comedian, multi-instrumentalist, actor and composer.

Murphy was born in Strathalbyn, South Australia. He attended Rostrevor College in Adelaide, graduating. He later went on to study Jazz Piano at the University of Adelaide. He went on to study Arts at the University of Sydney where he both co-directed and music directed University of Sydney Union's Queer Revue 2013: Peter Pansexual as part of the University of Sydney Revues season.[1]

Career

Stand Up

Murphy's stand up career started in 2010 when he entered the Triple J Raw Comedy Competition, reaching state finals twice in 2010 and 2011.[2]

Collaboration

In 2014 Murphy teamed up with the co-collaborators of Queer Revue, Fran Giapanni and Charles Dormer, to create An Hour of Touching, touring queer cultural festivals around the country in 2013 and 2014.[3]
