North Vista Secondary School (Abbreviation: NV; Chinese: 德新中学) is a co-educational neighbourhood government secondary school in Sengkang, North-East Singapore.

North Vista Secondary School was originally known as Thomson Secondary School. On 15 December 2000, the campus was relocated to Sengkang New Town from the old campus in Thomson. Thomson Secondary School was renamed as North Vista Secondary School after the relocation. However, the school retained its Chinese name to preserve historical links with the new school.

School History

The school started as Thomson Government Chinese Middle School in 1956, as one of the Government Chinese Middle Schools set up to cater to Chinese school students who had their studies disrupted by the Chinese middle schools riots. It later merged with Thomson Vocational School to become Thomson Secondary School.

When Thomson Secondary School was relocated to Sengkang Town on 15 December 2000, it was renamed to North Vista Secondary School. The Chinese name of Thomson Secondary School was maintained to preserve its historical links with the new school.

2016 marked the school's Golden Jubilee.

The School has been under the leadership of 2 Principals:

  1. Mr Lim Lai Chuan (2001-2012)
  2. Mrs Regina Lee (2013 to Present)

School Information

The school is located at 11 Rivervale Link, Singapore 545081. Ranggung LRT Station is located at a close proximity to the school.

School Crest

The school crest is shaped like a globe with two hands supporting it.
