Three Six Zero Group is an international entertainment and music management company founded in 2007 by Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson.
History
Founded in 2007 by Mark Gillespie, a talent booker for dance festival firm Global Gathering and Dean Wilson, who worked at 24 Management, Three Six Zero counted Calvin Harris as its first client. The early success of Harris helped the company gain stature in United Kingdom which led to the signing of acts such as, Chris Lake, Tom Neville and Deadmau5. In July 2010, Three Six Zero inked a worldwide partnership with US entertainment company Roc Nation.[1][2]
In July 2014, Three Six Zero Group announced the launch of a new record label and music publishing division in cooperation with Warner Bros. Records and Warner/Chappell Music. The imprint's first signees are electronic producers GTA, Australian DJ duo Cut Snake, and singer Anabel Englund.[3] The Prodigy signed to Three Six Zero for the United States, releasing their album The Day Is My Enemy on March 30, 2015.[4] On September 2014, it was announced Frank Ocean had signed to new management with Three Six Zero.[5]
In February 2015, the company announced the formation of Three Six Zero Entertainment - a new full-service management company aimed at representing clients in the film, television and literary industries. David A. Unger, formerly of talent agency Resolution, was named as the co-CEO of the new division, alongside Mark Gillespie.[6]
Charity
In 2012, Three Six Zero Group and Roc Nation launched their annual charity event to benefit Los Angeles Children’s Hospital Orthopaedic Center as a post-Grammy event. The first installment of the event was held on February 12, 2012 and featured performances from Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, Michael Woods, and Chris Lake. The February 10, 2013 event featured performances from Deadmau5, Kylie Minogue, Crookers, Timbaland + Demetrius, and DJ Reflex.[7] Both events raised over $250,000 for the charity.[8]
Accolades
In 2013, Mark Gillespie was nominated for 'Manager of the Year' at the Music Week Awards. [9] Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson have been listed on InTheMix's 'The Most Powerful People in Dance Music' for the last two years.[10][11] And Rolling Stone listed Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson on their 2014 list of 'The 50 Most Important People in EDM'. [12]
