Threshold Entertainment Group, also known as Threshold Entertainment and formerly known as Amalgamated Widgets, is an intellectual property company.[1] Its animation subsidiary, Threshold Animation Studio, produces films,[2] and its television channel subsidiary Blackbelt TV provides Martial Arts programming. In mid-2012, Larry Kasanoff became the company's chief executive officer (CEO) after previously serving as president for Lightstorm Entertainment, a company he co-founded with entrepreneur and filmmaker James Cameron.[3]
Threshold Entertainment has become Threshold Entertainment Group which makes "Film, Television and Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) largely based on brands including SPIDER-MAN, MORTAL KOMBAT, JUSTICE LEAGUE, LEGO, STAR TREK and STAR WARS. They have made over 250 films, including TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY, PLATOON, MORTAL KOMBAT, DIRTY DANCING and TRUE LIES. The company has been profiled in THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE WALL ST. JOURNAL, USA TODAY, TIME MAGAZINE, WIRED, MAXIM and PLAYBOY and has been featured on CNN, FOX NEWS, ABC WORLD NEWS TONIGHT, CNBC, THE HOWARD STERN SHOW and more."[4]
