Tibor Vangel (born 16 October 1970) is a Hungarian indie musician, best known as the lead singer, songwriter, lyricist, guitarist and drummer of the alternative rock band Sexepil.
Early life and personal life
Vangel was born in Budapest, Hungary. He worked as an antiquarian selling books written by Boris Vian, Franz Kafka in Budapest while performing punk songs in his first band named ETA. Sexepil was rehearsing at Clark Ádám square.[1] However, he left Hungary in 1998 and now he lives with his wife and children in Cardiff, Wales.[2] He also has a studio in his own house in Cardiff.
Sexepil
Vangel is the founding member of Sexepil. Vangel has been the drummer of the band since its inception. However, since the release of the Your Scream Is Music album, Vangel has become the singer and guitarist since the band did not find any singers who fitted the band.[3] Vangel's voice was compared to Maynard James Keenan of Tool, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails.[4] In an interview with Open Air Radio, Vangel said that the other members of Sexepil looked into his lap-top while rehearsing and found a song on which he was singing. The other members convinced Vangel to be the singer.[5]
In an interview with Heti Világgazdaság, Vangel admitted that he does not like listening to the first album of the band because he does not like the sound of the drums.[6]
