Tigisi in Numidia
'Tigisi in Numidia', was a town and episcopal see of the Roman province of Numidia.
Tigisis, identified as Taourga was a fortified town of Numidia, in the neighborhood of Lambese and Thamagada.[1]
Bishopric
The town of Tigisis was the seat of a bishopric during the Roman, Vandal and Byzantine era.[2] The persecution under Diocletian appears to have reached its height in Tigisis during Feb. 304.
