Tijd ("Time"), or De tijd as it states the Eurovision official web site, was the Dutch entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1971, performed in Dutch by Saskia & Serge.
The song is a ballad, with the duo singing about the significance of time. Concepts such as the fact that wishing for time to go faster results in it going slower are dealt with, as well as the all-important factor of time in a relationship. Saskia & Serge also recorded the song in English and French as, respectively, "Time" and "Le temps".
The song was performed fourteenth on the night, following Ireland's Angela Farrell with "One Day Love" and preceding Portugal's Tonicha with "Menina do alto da serra". At the close of voting, it had received 85 points, placing 6th in a field of 18.
It was succeeded as Dutch representative at the 1972 contest by Sandra & Andres with "Als het om de liefde gaat".
