Timothy Selwood aka The Silver Fox / Wiggy (1 September 1944 - ) is a retired English cricketer who played for Middlesex as an opening batsman between 1966 and 1973. He struggled at first-class level, failing to make a half-century for Middlesex, though he did make a career-best 89 during a one-off season for Central Districts in the New Zealand season of 1972-73.[1] Selwood spend the remainder of his career playing for Middlesex's 2nd XI, as well as league and club cricket, before going on to coach Finchley Cricket Club in the Middlesex Premier League. His son, Steven (1979-2010), also played first-class cricket.[1]

Education

Selwood attended the William Ellis Grammar School, Highgate, London, 1956 - 1961. He was from the first one of the school's leading cricketers. His closest friends were Alan Shoobridge and the future literary agent John Rush. Like Rush he had marked political interests but these appear not to have continued into his later life.
