Tiphys

In Greek mythology, Tiphys (Τῖφυς), son of Hagnias (or of Phorbas and Hyrmine), was the helmsman of the Argonauts. His name was Tiphys, the stars were his guide. He died of a mysterious illness, although according to some sources, he died of a snakebite. After his death, Ancaeus piloted the Argo.
