Tissa Wijesurendra (Sinhala: තිස්ස විජේසුරේන්ද්ර) was one of Sri Lanka's popular film actors in the 1970s. His debut film was "Nim Walalla" in 1970 directed by Ranjith Lal.[1]
Early life and education
He was educated at Nalanda College Colombo.[2]
Film acting
Tissa had acted with "Queen of Sinhalese cinema" Malini Fonseka in many films such as Suhada Pethuma.[3] Also he played the role as lover to many other film actresses like Geetha Kumarasinghe, Nita Fernando, Jenita Samaraweera in films like Sureka, Sudu Paraviyo, Kalana Mithuro etc.[4]
Tissa's best contemporaries in the film industry are Vijaya Kumaranatunga, Gamini Fonseka and Tony Ranasinghe. In Tissa's most recent film Nalaka Vithanage's Roopantharana he acts with Ravindra Randeniya, Ranjan Ramanayake and Amila Karunanayake.[5][6]
