Titlagarh (also known as Titilagarh) is a town and Municipality in Balangir district in the Indian state of Odisha.
Geography and Climate
Titlagarh is located at 20°18′N 83°09′E / 20.3°N 83.15°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 215 metres (705 feet). It was once considered the Hottest place in India (Leaving aside the Thar desert.)At present the situation's changed, clearly showing the effect of Green Revolution. It was famous for its rising temperature, particularly in summer. Just as temperature used to rise during summer,it also decreases during the winter.

Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[3] Titlagarh had a population of 27,756. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Titlagarh has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 57%. In Titlagarh, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Transport
Railway-- Titlagarh is well connected by railways. It is a junction railway station on the Jharsuguda–Vizianagaram line and Raipur - Vizianagaram line. Titlagarh is well connected to all major cities of india. Many important trains have a halt here of 10-20 minutes. It was one of a major railway station in sambalpur railway division under east coast railway zone.
Roads-- Titlagarh is well connected to rest of India and Odisha by NH-59 ( previous NH no-217 ) between Gopalpur - Odisha and Raipur - chhattisgarh Via - kesinga, titilagarh, khariar, mahasamund. It has a state highway between titilagarh to balangir district via saintala and between titilagarh to sindhekela.

Festivals
- Mahashivaratri Mela is organised during the Mahashivaratri festival every year near Kumuda Pahad for seven days. It is one of a biggest festival in which People gathered from all over Odisha to enjoy this.
- Nuakhai considered to be the main cultural festival at Titlagarh.
- Rathayatra is organised every year in the name of Lord Jagannath.
- Ganpati Puja and Durga Puja is organised every year in many places in the town with orchestra,Kalakunja,Prasad distribution.
- Ghantasuni yatra during Dushera at town is eye catching.
- Dushera in Titilagarh is one of the best celebrated fesival. Colorful decoration to the entire city for the span of 10 days of dusherah.
- Ravan-Dahan the finale of Dusherah. Organised at 2 places(High-school field & College field).
- Kumuda Mahostov is organise near Kumuda pahad with their local tribal cultural activities every year.
Sports
Titlagarh has been a pioneer in the athletics practices in Odisha and has produced state champions in the athletics events for years together. The events in which the athletes from Titlagarh maintained the state records are javeline, putting the shots etc. Rajendra Narayan Singhdeo Indoor Badminton Stadium, Near Kachery Line, Titilagarh Organised an All India Badminton Tournament at Titilagarh,Participate in the all over state in this tournament (Visakhapatnam, Bagalore, Karnatak, Jharkhand, Chhatishgarh, Pune, Ranchi, Kolkata and also Odisha.
Beside the Indoor Stadium there are many play-grounds for out door games i.e. High School Field,College Field,City School Field,Town Field. Cricket and Football happen to be the most popular outdoor games.Many talents who has played in the Ranji Trophy nets and few are to name as Mr.Sandip Tripathy(Tulu),Mr.Sanjay Behera and they still an active parts of cricket events all over Western Odisha. There is a high level of fitness awareness among the people in Titlagarh; a Pool of the fitness clubs exists in Titlagarh: Saheed Gymnasium founded by Mr. Suryamani Padhi in 1968,Hanuman Club near Daily market and more.
