Tobaku Haouden Zero: Gyanki-hen
Tobaku Haouden Zero: Gyanki-hen (Japanese: 賭博覇王伝 零 ギャン鬼編), is a Japanese manga series by Nobuyuki Fukumoto, who is renowned for his works Kaiji and Akagi. Similar to Fukumoto's other works, this story revolves around gambling at high stakes, this time including more competition and rivalry. This is the second part of the Tobaku Houden Zero series, picking up after the 2-year cliffhanger in the second part. It started publishing in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine on July 13, 2011 and finished publishing on May 29, 2013 to yet another cliffhanger. It consists of 10 volumes of 88 chapters.
Plot
Leaving off a couple years after part one, Ukai Zero has teamed up with Suezaki, a yakuza from the part one, and continues to gamble. However, they are only able to gamble for small amounts of money, nowhere near the amount that Zero needs to go up against Zaizen (a multi-trillionaire that held a gambling competition for picking out talented people, including Zero, to be his rep player in part one of the story).
Creating a site to help others in need with his gambling skills, Zero's name begins to spread across the web as the undefeated gambler. From golf, to poker, to a frantic treasure hunt with the stakes of billions of dollars, Zero overcomes numerous difficult yet creative gambles using only his high intellect to support him. Each gamble he wins, and each sum of money he gets brings him a step closer to his goal: to keep a promise to a friend.
