Todd Duncan Astle (born 24 September 1986) is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Canterbury. He was born in Palmerston North. He is the son of Alec Astle who played first-class cricket fleetingly for Central Districts in the late 1970s; he is not related to former New Zealand batsman Nathan Astle.
Todd was an overseas professional for Aberdeenshire C.C. for the 2008 and 2009 seasons, starring with bat and ball.[1] The club had a historic season in 2009, winning the SNCL Premier League and the Scottish Cup.[2][3]
He made his debut for the Blackcaps against Sri Lanka on 25 November 2012. He scored 35 runs in the second innings in a key partnership with Ross Taylor of 107. He took his first wicket also in the second innings by removing Prasanna Jayawardene.
He made his Twenty20 International debut for New Zealand against Pakistan on 15 January 2016.[4]
