Todd Long
Todd Long is the Chief Operation Officer of Fulton County, Georgia.
GDOT
He previously worked as the Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).[1] He had been in that position since 2012 and had worked for GDOT since 1990, serving in multiple positions including District Engineer and Director of Preconstruction. Long was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the post of Director of Planning when the position was created in 2009.[2] He resigned in 2012 to become the Deputy Commissioner of GDOT under Commissioner Keith Golden.[3]
Retirement
In July 2015, he announced that he would retire from GDOT in October, 2015.[4][5]
Fulton County
In mid-2015, Fulton County Manager Dick Anderson appointed Long to the position of Chief Operating Officer of Fulton County.[6]
Education and Personal Life
Born and raised in south Georgia, Long graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering in 1989. He continued his education there with a Master's Degree in 1990. Long comes from a family of engineers, with his wife, brother, father, and uncles having engineering degrees.[7]
