Tomás de San Martín (March 7, 1482-1559) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as the first Bishop of La Plata o Charcas (1552-1559).[1][2]
Biography
Tomás de San Martín was born in Córdoba, Spain and ordained a priest in the Order of Preachers.[1] On June 27, 1552, he was appointed by Pope Julius III as Bishop of La Plata o Charcas.[1] He served as Bishop La Plata o Charcas until his death in 1559.[1] While Bishop, he was the principal co-consecrator of Bernardino de Carmona, Auxiliary Bishop of Santiago de Compostela.[1]
