Career
Brentford
A graduate of the Brentford youth team, an injury crisis saw Anthony make his professional debut in a Division Four match versus Stockport County on 18 September 1962.[2][1] He went on to quickly win a regular place in the team, making 35 appearances over the course of the 1962/63 season and picking up a Division Four winners' medal.[3] Anthony managed just one appearance during the 1963/64 season (in a 2-2 FA Cup first round draw with Margate) and failed to appear at all during the following campaign.[3] He instead played for the reserve team, captaining the side to the 1964/65 London Challenge Cup.[4] Anthony departed the Bees in the summer of 1965, having made 36 appearances and scored one goal for the club.[1]
Guildford City
Anthony went on to have trials at Football League sides Coventry City and Millwall, but failed to win a contract at either club.[1] Anthony dropped into non-league football in 1996 and enjoyed a five-year spell at Southern League side Guildford City, picking up a Division One winners' medal in the 1970/71 season.[1] He made over 200 appearances for the club.[1]
