Tom Elmhirst

For the senior commander in the RAF, see Thomas Elmhirst.

Tom Elmhirst (born 8 June 1971) is a British specialist music producer and mix engineer. He began his career at SARM studios in the early 1990s at a time when digital audio was already becoming mainstream. Elmhirst’s experiences at SARM and with Trevor Horn have clearly influenced his current working methods. It shows in his strong preference for working on analogue boards, particularly the Neve VR (introduced in 1988) and combining this with cutting edge technology.

Since his 2009 Grammy success, for Adele's 19 album, Elmhirst has been working with a range of artists including Arcade Fire and the forthcoming tribute to Cy Coleman, a cover album of his songs featuring Fiona Apple, Nikka Costa and Madeleine Peyroux.
