Tom Racer was a band that originated in the Los Angeles in 1997.[1] The band was formed by Mike Elliot and Erik Newton with Jon Elliot on drums.[2] They opened for acts such as Jimmy Eat World, Marcy Playground, and Ash.[2] Aaron Emil joined the band and Jared Summerell replaced Jon Elliot on drums.[2] The band broke up when Mike Elliott opted for a career in the military.[1]
