Tongue 'n' Cheek
Tongue 'n' Cheek band members were Conor Colin Henry, Maureen Mason & Junior Williams. They were produced,Co-Written and formed by Robin Achampong & Delroy Murray, who were also known as the duo Total Contrast.
Tongue 'n' Cheek' were a British late 1980s and early 1990s electro music band, that were primarily popular in the UK club scene between 1987 and 1991.
The band appeared on the BBC show Top of the Pops twice with singles Forget Me Nots & Tomorrow,also appeared on various TVs shows including This Morning with Richard & Judy, The Derrick Jameson show, The Hitman & Her and were regulars on the Chart Show.
The band regularly performed with various UK R&B acts of the time like Soul II Soul,The Pasadenas, Dina Carroll, Glen Goldsmith and supported the band Imagination on their UK tour.
All of the group's seven singles charted in the UK Singles Chart,[1] however they were more noticeable in the UK Dance Chart. The group's biggest UK hit single was "Tomorrow", which peaked at #20 in the UK chart.[1] Which was remixed by legendary Chicago DJ Frankie Knuckles.Follow-up singles included "Nobody" (UK #37) and "Forget Me Nots" (UK #26). The group also had an album, This Is Tongue 'N' Cheek, which reached #45 in the UK Albums Chart.[1]
The lyrical content from Tongue 'n' Cheek's 1988 single "Nobody (Can Love Me)", was sampled by Acen. The lyrics - albeit speeded up and altered - formed part of Acen's darkcore single, "Trip II The Moon", which reached #38 in the UK Singles Chart in August 1992.[2]
