Torpoint Athletic F.C. are a football club based in Torpoint, Cornwall, England, in the UK. They play in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division.
History
Torpoint Athletic joined the South Western League in 1962, and retained that membership until 2007, when they joined the new South West Peninsula League Premier Division. They had won the South Western League championship on two occasions, both in the mid-1960s.
In the 1995–96 season, they reached the 5th round of the FA Vase, but without floodlights they were unable to enter the national competitions. In 2009 the necessary floodlights were built. In the 2010–11 season they became the first ever South West Peninsula League team to reach the quarter-final of the FA Vase where they were beaten by Poole Town.
In June 2012 before the 2012–13 season, the club faced some bad news when the FA refused to allow them to enter any national FA competitions because they do not have toilet facilities in the home and away dressing room, and the referee's room.[1]
