Torrington High School rape case
The Torrington High School rape case is a 2013 case on the alleged sexual assault of two 13-year-old girls by three teenage boys from Torrington High School in Torrington, Connecticut.[1][2][3]
Controversy
Torrington High School gained notoriety for its students' victim blaming cyberbullying of the two 13-year-old girls through social media. The Register Citizen, a local newspaper, published images of Twitter posts which defended the accused and attacked the victims.[4][1][2][3] Some have also criticized parents and staff, who may have been hinted about the situation, of not making students aware of the legal and other implications of their actions.[5]
