Towns of Belarus
According to a 1998 law,[1] towns in Belarus are classified into three categories:
- Minsk, the capital of Belarus
- Towns of oblast subordination (города областного подчинения)
- Towns of raion subordination (города районного подчинения)
This classification is inherited from Belarussian SSR of the Soviet Union.
