Toyin Adekale
Toyin Adekale (born 21 December ??), often known simply as Toyin, is a British Lovers rock singer.
Adekale first had success as a member of London reggae band The Instigators, which also featured Mafia & Fluxy.[1] She topped the British reggae charts with her single "Let's Make Love".[1] She went on to form the group Pure and Simple, also managing the group.[1] She was one of a number of reggae artists to contribute to the British Reggae Artists Famine Appeal, singing on the "Let's Make Africa Green Again" charity single in 1985.[1] Her debut solo album, Love 'N' Leather, was released in 1985. She also contributed to the "Give Give Give" Disco Aid song produced by Paul Hardcastle, with the late Mel & Kim, Jean Carne, Haywood, Total Contrast, Steve Walsh, Edwin Starr and many of the UK's finest.
She had a combination hit in 1995 with Daddy Screw with "Man With The Agony".[1]
Toyin Adekale is the first British female to have performed on the UK Reggae Sunsplash first indoor event at Wembley Arena in 1985.
She was also the first British female reggae artist to perform live on BBC's Ebony in 1985.
She interviewed the late Cedella Booker (Bob Marley's mother) in 1996.
Adekale performed for the former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, at the oil summit at the Hilton, Mayfair, London.

Toyin's acting career started under the guidance of Larrington Walker at Dick Shephard School in London/England with the likes of Treva Etienne, Eamonn Walker, Robbie Gee, Geof Francis and more, with debut play Busy in the City at the famous Roundhouse Theatre in Camden Town, thereafter acting from a musical perspective with Devon Morgan's fist Reggae Musical Johnny Dollar, with reggae UK artists. Following the success of this play she went on to take more leading roles in Jealousy, Devon's adult comedy, Ragarella reggae pantomime, Oh Happy Days and Backslider. On American soil the drama continued with Shantail Miller's Ultimate Proposal and Silent Killers, drama musicals in Washington State. Paradise Theatre in Gig Harbor, Washington, also landed Toyin a role in the Hairspray musical. She is also a voice actor and does voiceover commercials for TV, radio and Educational Media Voice Actor Her second album, From Me To You, was recorded in Jamaica with Steely & Clevie. Her latest album, I'll Be Moving On, was released in 2005.

New single "With You I"m Born Again" available on iTunes. Toyin Adekale can be seen frequently on TBN in the United States, and has performed on the Dr Bobby Jones Show in New Orleans. Also penned her first book I Do, Do You? - Short Stories by Toyin Adekale] with a single of the same title "I Do, Do You?"
Single and music video "The Storm is Over - Sunshine's Here" released in 2014 has gathered testimonials from around the world of helping people in grieving and challenges to be encouraged.
She now lives in the United States, where she runs a real estate company.
