The school has an enrollment of 346 students.

In 2006 the High School won the Blue Ribbon Award.

On the morning of Friday, January 10, 2014, the discovery of live bullets in a school hallway prompted Tremont High School (and Tremont Middle School) to go on lockdown while lockers and classrooms were searched for weapons. None were found. Superintendent Jeff Hinman said the district reacted according to an established emergency plan by restricting student movement and calling police when six bullets were found by students and staff. Two more unspent shell casings were found soon afterward in the vicinity. "We're pleased to report nothing (no weapon) was found," Hinman said. "Our students have to understand this can't happen. ... We will not take these incidents lightly." After the schools were searched, students were allowed to move throughout the buildings, but officers were scheduled to remain on the scene as a precautionary measure for the rest of the school day. "We've tried to return some normalcy, and police will be present for the rest of the day," Hinman said.[1]
