The men's triathlon was part of the Triathlon at the 2012 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fourth appearance of the event, which was established in 2000. The competition was held on 7 August 2012 at Hyde Park in London. The triathlon was won by Alistair Brownlee of Great Britain with a time of 1:46:25.[1][2]

Competition format

The race was held over the "international distance" (also called "Olympic distance") and consists of 1,500 metres (0.93 mi) swimming, 43 kilometres (27 mi) road bicycling, and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) road running.[3]
