Tribeca Flashpoint College is an accredited, for-profit private college located in Chicago, Illinois, US. It offers two- and four-year degree programs in media, arts, and communication.

History

Founded in 2007 as Flashpoint, The Academy of Media Arts and Sciences, the college entered a 50/50 partnership with Tribeca Enterprises, the company established by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff best known for producing the Tribeca Film Festival, in April 2010. At the time of the partnership, Flashpoint was renamed Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy. In 2012, Sterling Capital Partners, a private equity firm, became the majority owner of Tribeca Flashpoint Academy. In April 2015, the school announced that it had become Tribeca Flashpoint College.

Tribeca Flashpoint College received the authority to grant A.A.S. degrees from the Illinois Board of Higher Education on February 5, 2010; and received the authority to grant B.S. degrees in 2014.[1] As of April 2011, Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).[2] The school is not regionally accredited.

Campus

Tribeca Flashpoint College's campus is located in Burnham Center in the Chicago Loop. Facilities at this location include a 55-seat screening room, a recording studio, sound design labs, and a design and animation lab featuring a green screen Cyclorama wall.
