Trysfjorden

Trysfjorden is a 6 km long fjord located in Søgne, Vest-Agder, Norway. The fjord is located northeast of Ålo, west of Trysnes. Trysfjord has several islands and islets. In Røsstadkilen is Storholmen, Notholmen, Urholmen and St. Helena. Within Holmen is Skottholmen and in Søylekilen is Knibeholmen.

Between the localities Lastad and Trysnes is Lastadholmen which in recent years has had Sørlandets largest tern colony.

Trysfjorden is a threshold fjord. Inside the 11 meter deep threshold is the relatively deep - large parts of the bay is round 70 meters deep at its deepest is the 85 meters. In the mud at the bottom, scientists have discovered crustaceans that they believe are indigenous to the bay.
