Tum Bin - Love Will Find the Way (meaning Without You) is a 2001 Hindi movie directed by Anubhav Sinha. It starred Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sandali Sinha, Himanshu Malik, and Raqesh Vashisth. The film was a sleeper hit at the box office.
Plot summary
After Amar Shah's accidental death in India, Canada-based Shah Industries is on the verge of collapse. Pia, Amar fiancée, is devastated; Girdhari, his dad, has become numb from shock and unresponsive towards others; and Amar's sister and grandmother are in mourning, meanwhile inspector D'mello who is investigating the case is determined to find the person responsible for the accident despite his superiors indifference towards the case.
Months after Amar's death, a highly respected and talented business worker named Shekhar Malhotra, enters their lives and offers to re-build and restore Shah Industries without any compensation stating the while in India Amar met him and offered him a job with Shah industries before he died. He is given the chance and goes about the uphill task of making the company viable again. Gradually, Shekhar heals the gaping wound left in the Shah family by Amar's death and they come to accept him as one of the family. Also, Shekhar falls in love with Pia. What they don't know — except for Bosco, Shekhar's friend in Canada — is that it was Shekhar's jeep that accidentally had hit Amar after he swerved to avoid hitting a innocent girl who had walked into the road, causing his death. Ridden by guilt, Shekhar has come to Canada to confess his crime, ask for forgiveness, and do whatever he can for the family.
Abhigyan is a wealthy Canadian industrialist who meets Pia and realizes that she is the right woman for him. He is considering proposing to Pia and helping to rebuild Shah Industries. But Pia has fallen in love with Shekhar. Eventually, a conflict arises between Pia and Shekhar regarding a proposition made by Abhi to take over Shah Industries. Shekhar realizes that Pia does not need his help any more and decides to return to India.
Pia stops Shekhar while he boards his flight and confesses her feelings for him. Shekhar denies his feelings and boards the plane. Devastated, Pia goes home and gets engaged to Abhi. At the airport arrives inspector D'mello (Manoj Pahwa), from India in search of the person who killed Amar, and arrests Shekhar. They wait, with Bosco, to board the next flight to India. Shekhar calls Pia and tells her how much he loves her and confesses that it was he who hit her fiancé. Being drunk, Shekhar meets with an accident.
Pia feels guilty about falling for the man who caused Amar's death and confesses it to Girdhari, who surprises her by speaking for the first time after his son's death. He tells her that Shekhar had told him the truth when he first visited them and he believes Shekhar. Amar's family then makes Pia realize how much Shekhar has done for the family and that he is like Amar to them. Bosco informs them about Shekhar's accident. Abhi tells a skeptical Pia to go back to Shekhar as he is her true love. Meanwhile D'mello who is in hospital with everyone, understands that the family needs Shekhar more than the law does and simply closes the case and leaves. The movie ends with Shekhar recovering and uniting with Pia while Abhi is left devastated and is comforted by his uncle. [1]

Box office
The film was released on 13 July 2001 in India, clashing with some other films which came out the same day. The film opened to a 20–35% occupancy at the theatres but with time the film got positive word of mouth and its collections picked up and collected around 9 crores at the box office with a budget of 2.5 crore the film recovered its production costs and Box Office India declared it a hit.[2]
Soundtrack
The soundtrack is composed by Nikhil Vinay, Ravi Pawar and T.S.Jarnail. The lyrics were provided by Faaiz Anwar, Pushpa Patel and T.S. Jarnail. Singers like Sonu Nigam, Anuradha Paudwal, Jagjit Singh, K.S. Chitra, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, S Shailaja, Tarsame Singh Saini and Udit Narayan lent their voices for the soundtrack. The ghazal "Koi Faryad" sung by Jagjit Singh and composed by Nikhil Vinay is considered as one of the greatest ghazals in the history of Bollywood. The songs "Choti Choti Raatein", "Tum Bin" and "Tumhare Siva" composed by Nikhil Vinay were chart-busters in 2001. Other songs composed by Ravi Pawar & T.S.Jarnail were also successful making the soundtrack one of the most successful soundtrack of the year.

Sequel
After 14 years, Anubhav Sinha and Bhushan Kumar are planning to take the franchise of ‘Tum Bin‘ ahead. Anubhav Sinha confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror. The film will go on floors in January 2016 in Europe and this film will not have any of the actors from the first part. Currently, the hunt for new actors is ongoing.[3]
