Felis margarita thinobia, known as the Turkestan sand cat, is a subspecies of the sand cat native to the Transcaspian region.[1][2] It occurs in the Karakum and Kyzylkum deserts to the east of the Caspian Sea and north of the Kopet Dag mountains up to the Syr Darya river.[1][3]
