Single
In December 2011 Logan Lynn announced that he had been working on a new record titled Tramp Stamps and Birthmarks, slated for release in December 2012.[1] Lynn released the first single[2] from the record titled "Turn Me Out"[3] on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.[4] The song was co-written by David Appaloosa from Portland band The Hugs, produced by Gino Mari, and recorded and mixed at The Country Club recording studios in Portland. It was mastered by Stephan Hawkes at The Breakroom Recording Studio, also in Portland.[5] In an article which contained an interview with Lynn and a review of the new single, The Advocate Magazine wrote “Somehow, a kid who grew up in a fundamentalist Christian church where even musical instruments were too secular to have around has developed into an innovative adult musician with a dirty-honest edge. 'Turn Me Out,' the debut track off his upcoming fifth studio album, 'Tramp Stamps and Birthmarks', is blunt, raunchy, and fun.”
Music Video
In July 2012 Lynn released the "Turn Me Out" music video, which was directed by photographer Curtis Speer and produced by Logan Lynn Music.[6] This video was picked up by MTV for premier on the Logo TV network's "NewNowNext" series, but the show was canceled before it premiered. It was later announced that Logo GM Lisa Sherman was leaving the network,[7] causing RuPaul's Drag Race to be folded into sister channel MTV and the network's music programming to be cut.
Commercial Spots
The fashion house of Oscar de la Renta used Logan Lynn's "Turn Me Out" for their Spring/Summer 2013 Men's Collection campaign.[8][9] In August of 2015, COVERGIRL Cosmetics used Lynn's song "Turn Me Out" in a television ad, making its premiere at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.[10]
