USA Memory Championship
The USA Memory Championship is an annual memory competition that takes place in New York City.[1][2][3][4][5]
Events
There are four qualifying events in the first part of the competition:[6]
- Names and Faces: memorize up to 117 names and faces in 15 minutes
- Speed Numbers: memorize as many random digits as possible within five minutes
- Speed Cards: memorize a shuffled deck of playing cards as quickly as possible
- Poetry: memorize an unpublished poem within 15 minutes
Eight mental athletes then advance to the final rounds:
- Spoken Words: memorize a long list of spoken words
- Three Strikes You’re Out: memorize facts about strangers, including names, addresses, phone numbers, hobbies, and more
- Double Deck O’Cards: whichever of the remaining competitors survives this elimination round is the champion
