Uline is a distributor of shipping, industrial, and packing materials to businesses throughout North America.[1] Uline offers over 31,000 products in stock, including corrugated boxes, available in more than 1,400 sizes. Orders placed by 6 PM ship the same day.[2][3] Uline ships their products from ten distribution centers across North America to ensure fast delivery and low freight costs: Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Breinigsville, PA; Los Angeles, CA; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; Toronto, ON, Canada; Edmonton, AB, Canada; Tijuana, Mexico and Monterrey, Mexico.[4] In 2010, Uline opened their Pleasant Prairie, WI corporate headquarters featuring a one million square foot distribution center.[5]
History
Uline was founded in 1980 by Dick and Liz Uihlein and originally distributed a single item, a carton sizer. Dick and Liz Uihlein started their business in their basement; the company has grown to employ more than 4,500 people.
Expansion
The Village Board of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin unanimously approved final plans for a second building at Uline’s headquarters in February 2016.The final site and operational plans call for a three-story, 284,260-square-foot building, located on 37.3 acres at 12100 Uline Place. An additional 500 workers are expected to be employed when the new facility opens. The building can accommodate up to 800 employees. Uline is hoping to begin construction this month, and the new facility is expected to be completed by August 2016.[6]
