The United States national futsal team is the futsal team that represents that United States at international competitions. It is controlled by the United States Soccer Federation and affiliated with CONCACAF. The U.S. Futsal Federation was founded in 1981 and the first international futsal match played by the U.S. National Futsal Team was in May 1984 in Nanaimo, Canada where the United States won 6-5. The first international futsal match in the United States was held in December, 1985, at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California. The U.S. select team, defeated Australia, 9-5.
The United States has qualified for the 1989, 1992, 1996, 2004, and 2008 World Cups. They have also qualified for 5 CONCACAF Futsal Championships, winning twice, coming in third twice and once failing to advance past the group stage.
