United States presidential visits to South Korea

Nine United States presidents have made presidential visits to South Korea. The first trip was made by Dwight D. Eisenhower (as president-elect) in 1952. Since then, all presidents, except John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, have travelled to South Korea while in office.

January 5–7, 1992 Seoul Met with President Roh Tae-woo and senior Korean officials, signed a science and technology agreement, addressed the Korean National Assembly, and visited U.S. military personnel.
Bill Clinton[7] July 10–11, 1993 Seoul Met with President Kim Young-sam; addressed the Korean National Assembly, and visited U.S. military personnel.
April 15–16, 1996 Cheju Island Met with President Kim Young-sam and proposed four-nation peace talks.
November 20–22, 1998 Seoul, Osan Met with President Kim Dae-Jung; addressed U.S. military personnel.

August 5–6, 2008 Seoul, Yongsan Met with President President Lee Myung-bak and Addressed U.S. military personnel.
