University of Kyrenia (Turkish: Girne Üniversitesi) as the first university of Northern Cyprus specializing on maritime studies was established in 2013 in Kyrenia. The trade name of the university is banned by the TRNC High Administrative Court in 2013 under the decision of 82/2013[1]
