The ornate mastigure (Uromastyx ornata) is one of the most colorful members of the genus in Israel, with lengths of up to 37 cm (15 in). Ornate mastigure can be found on rocky areas in Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.[2] It is considered Least Concern by the IUCN,[1] but rated as EN (B,C2a) according to "Endangered species in Israel, the red list of threatened animals".
