VS (song)
"Vs" is the debut single by Misono, the former lead singer of the J-pop band Day After Tomorrow. It was released on March 29, 2006 in two formats; CD-only and CD+DVD.
Overview
"Vs" was written by Misono while the b-side, "Garasu no Kutsu", was written and composed by Misono. The single did reasonably well on the charts debuting at #4 and selling approximately 40,000 copies. To date, this has been Misono's highest selling and highest charting single until "It's All Love!" (with her sister Kumi Koda) three years later. "Vs" was also the theme song to the Nintendo DS game, Tales of the Tempest.
Music video
The PV for "Vs" is roughly based on Snow White. There are two Misonos, a princess Misono and a witch Misono. The two Misonos are constantly battling throughout the PV, hence the name "Vs" (for "versus"). In the end, the witch Misono feeds the princess Misono a poisoned apple. The princess Misono pretends to eat it and fall down dead, but it was a pretence and she spits out the bite she had taken.
Live performances
Misono performed "Vs" and "Garasu no Kutsu" at Velfarre.
