The Vadamarachchi Operation Medal (In Sinhalese:වඩමාරච්චි මෙහෙයුම් පදක්කම) is presented to all ranks of the Regular and Volunteer Forces of the military of the Republic of Sri Lanka, that who have served in Vadamarachchi Operation and the below mentioned tasks.
Who received the medal
- All persons of the Security Forces who were actively involved in the military operations in the Vadamarachchi area.
- All those logistic and administrative personnel who were involved is operating the troops in the forward areas during the Vadamarachchi operations, whether they were located in Vadamarachchi or somewhere else,
- All security personnel set out outside the Vadamarachchi operational area in order to aid the Vadamarachchi operations.
- All those individuals, both military and civil, who were involved in planning the Vadamarachchi operations and were present in the Jaffna Peninsula during the Vadamarachchi Operations.
- All armed and civil hospital staff who provided medical support and care to the casualties during the Vadamarachchi operation.
How medal awarded
The decoration is presented by His/Her Excellency the President after recommended by the respective Service Commanders.
