Vadlamudi is a village in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Chebrolu mandal of Tenali revenue division.[1][3]

Geography

Vadlamudi is located at 16°14′08″N 80°33′38″E / 16.2356°N 80.5605°E / 16.2356; 80.5605 and at an altitude of 17 m (56 ft). The village is spread over an area of 15.18 km2 (5.86 sq mi).[1]

Government and politics

Vadlamudi gram panchayat is the local self-government of the village.[4] The gram panchayat is divided into 14 wards and each ward is represented by an elected Ward member, also referred as Panchs.[5][6] The elected members of the gram panchayat is headed by the president of the village, known as Sarpanch. The tenure of all the elected representatives is five for years. While, Secretary of the panchayat is a non elected representative, appointed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to oversee panchayat activities.[7] Kunchala Vijaya Kumari is the secretary of the panchayat.[5]

Economy

Sangam Dairy located at Vadlamudi is the cooperative dairy for processing of milk. It implements National Dairy Plan and was selected by the National Dairy Development Board.[8]
