Vaitarana is a river north of the city of Mumbai, India.[1] It is near the border with Gujarat state. Vaitarna supplies Mumbai's drinking water. It is largest river in Northern-Konkan region and drains whole Palghar district, Maharashtra.

SS Vaitarna, a steamship, was named after the river.
