Valeriia Poloz (Ukrainian: Полоз Валерія) (born March 7, 1992)[1] is an Ukrainian beauty pageant titleholder who was appointed as Miss Ukraine Earth 2014[2][3][4][5] she represented Ukraine at Miss Earth 2014 but went unplaced.
Biography
Early life and career beginnings
Valeriia is already an established model as she is a successful one not only in her native country Ukraine, but also in France.[6] Aside from modelling, Valeriia is also a Computer specialist.[5]
Valeriia studied at Kremenchuk National University Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi from 2009 until 2014.
Pageantry
Queen of Poltava region 2012
Valeriia decided to join a beauty contest in Poltava region in 2012. The contest enables the winner to participate in "Queen of Ukraine" pageant. Valeriia won the title on 16 December 2012 and went on to compete at Queen of Ukraine 2013.
Queen of Ukraine 2013
Valeriia joined the pageant where she became one of the finalists. However, she was not able to get the crown which was won by Natalia Varchenko. Queen of Ukraine decided to appoint her to be the country's representative to Miss Earth pageant.
Miss Earth 2014
"Let us join hands together and make a cleaner planet and save it for future generations."
Being a Miss Ukraine Earth, Valeriia will fly to the Philippines in November to compete with almost 100 other candidates to be Alyz Henrich's[7][8] successor as Miss Earth.
As a Miss Earth delegate, an environmental advocacy is a must. Based from Miss Earth's website, Valeriia's advocacy is the theme, "Save the environment", "The causes of environmental problems. Methods to solve them." She conducted classes in response to her advocacy. She also took part in cleaning the Dnieper River and has been organizing a surprise for orphans such as conducting horse walks in the fresh air. She also mentions, "I care about the future of our planet and the future of people."
As published in Miss Earth website, Valeriia also promoted her country Ukraine by saying, "Ukraine is one of the largest countries in Eastern Europe. The capital of Ukraine is Kiev. In Ukraine, there are many attractions that we can be proud of. These are Carpathians with castles, cathedrals and legends. Kiev - one of the oldest cities in Europe. Many historical monuments, museums, theaters are in Ukraine. Rich cultural life. In Ukraine there are unlimited, beautiful spaces and sites. Ukrainian people are not only patriotic and strong nation, it is one big welcoming family!"
At the conclusion of the pageant, she failed to enter the semifinal round. The Miss Earth 2014 title was won by Jamie Herrell of the Philippines.[9][10][11]
