Vallorcine is a municipality in the Haute-Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.

Geography

Located at the foot of the Mont Blanc Vallorcine is a tiny and so far unspoilt little ski village located within the Chamonix Valley and forming part of the Domaine de Balme ski area (which includes Le Tour). Apart from cross country and perhaps show shoeing and a very small selection of restaurants, all other activities and entertainment can be found in Chamonix (20 km away). From Vallorcine to Chamonix you can easily enter the hussle of this large resort and its ski areas including Brevent / Flegere Grand Montets Les Houches.
