Vandichakkaram is a 1980 Tamil film. The film stars Sivakumar and Saritha in the lead roles and both of them won a Filmfare Award in the respective categories. It was one of the biggest hits of Sivakumar.[3] The film marked the debut of Silk Smitha[4][5] This movie was later remade as Prem Pratigyaa

Development
Vinu Chakravarthy wrote the script in 1976 but the story was made into a film and released in 1982. Smitha, who played a character named "Silk" in this film, later became a popular actress. The name "Silk Smitha" was given to the actress by Vinu Chakravarthy.[6]
Soundtrack
The music composed by Sankar Ganesh.[7] and lyrics were penned by Pulamaipithan.
