Rural Municipality of Vanscoy No. 345

The Rural Municipality of Vanscoy No. 345, Saskatchewan is located southwest of the city of Saskatoon, Canada. It was established December 13, 1909. Before 1935 it was known as the Rural Municipality Number 345 of Richland and then was absorbed into Loganton on October 16, 1909 and into Vanscoy on April 16, 1934.[1] Vanscoy is served by the Vanscoy Police Service which consists of one officer and is in partnership with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Boundaries

The boundaries of the Rural Municipality extend to the north and northwest by Corman Park No. 344, Saskatchewan, to the west side of the South Saskatchewan River, to the south by Montrose No. 315, Saskatchewan, and to the west by Perdue No. 346, Saskatchewan. To the north used to be Park Rural Municipality #375 which was disorganised on December 31, 1969. The area was assumed by Corman Park No. 344, Saskatchewan.

Population

As of the census in 2001, there were 2,617 people living in the RM of Vanscoy. It is part of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority.
