Varisulca
Scientific classification
Domain: Eukaryota
Phylum: Sulcozoa
Subphylum: Varisulca
Cavalier-Smith 2002
Classes
  • Hilomonadea
  • Diphyllatea
  • Glissodiscea

Cavalier-Smith has proposed the new subphylum Varisulca which consists of the Classes Hilomonadea, Diphyllatea and Glissodiscea.[1] The validity of this proposed taxonomy has yet to ruled upon by the Society of Protistologists.

Further work by Cavalier-Smith has shown that Varisulca is paraphyletic.[2] Again, the validity of this revised taxonomy awaits approval by the Society.
