Varvara Baruzdina

Varvara Matveevna Baruzdina (1862–1941) was a Russian painter, mainly of genre scenes. A native of the Tver region, she studied with Pavel Chistyakov, her uncle, and between 1880 and 1885 was a student at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Baruzdina died in the town of Pushkin. Her paintings may be found in the Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum; one of her works was submitted for exhibition at the 1904 World's Fair.
