Vasile Tărâţeanu (born September 27, 1945, Nijni Sinivtsi) is a writer and activist from Ukraine.

Biography

Vasile Tărâţeanu was born to Elena and Dumitru Tărâţeanu on September 27, 1945. He graduate from the Chernivtsi University in 1972.[1] Vasile Tărâţeanu worked for the newspapers Zorile Bucovinei (1969–1981) and Radio Kiev (1981–1991).

In 1989 he was a founder of the Societatea pentru Cultură Românească "Mihai Eminescu" and in 2000 became the president of the cultural foundation "Casa Limbii Române" in Cernăuţi. He is editor in chief of Plai românesc (1990–1994), Arcaşul", "Curierul de Cernăuţi", "Junimea[2][3]

He is a leader of the Democratic Forum of Romanians in Moldova.
