Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology(VVIT) was established in the year 2007, under Social Educational Trust in Namburu village, Pedakakani mandal of Guntur district by Mr. Vasireddy Vidya Sagar.It has an intake capacity of 840 students for Under Graduate Engineering Programs(B.Tech), 120 students into six Master of Technology Programs and sixty students into an Master of Computer Applications program. The B.Tech Program is offered in six disciplines namely Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Technology. The post graduate programs are offered in Computer Science and Engineering, Very Large Scale Integration, Power Electronics, Machine Drawing, and Structural Engineering.[1]

VVIT has emerged as one of the top three Engineering Colleges from the 200 engineering colleges affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada.

The Campus has an In-House placement Training team, women's hostel, a canteen and a tug shop , 40 Mbps line for internet connectivity, a 100 kVA rooftop solar plant , a fleet 50 buses for transport of students , a mineral water plant, indoor and outdoor sports arena.

Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Athena Health Care, Open Text, Tibro, Genpact, Sutherlands, CSS Corp, Convergys, Apps Associates are some of the companies which have recruited the students of VVIT in the past years [8][9][10][11]

Admissions

Under Graduate Programs

The students are admitted into the four year undergraduate programs in two categories. The first category, Category-A seats constitute 70% of the total seats in the college. The Category-A seats are filled through Convener, EAMCET, Andhra Pradesh. The second category, Category-B seats constitute 30% of the total available seats. The Category-B seats are filled by the management through the news paper advertisement.[12][13]

Post Graduate Programs

The students are admitted into the two year undergraduate programs in two categories. The first category, Category-A seats constitute 70% of the total seats in the college. The second category, Category-B seats constitute 30% of the total available seats, 15% of Category B seats are available to NRI candidates. The Category-B seats are filled by the management. MCA seats are also filled in the same fashion.[13][14]

NCC and NSS

National Cadet Corps

NCC wing of VVIT has comprised battalion from 2(A) Armed Squadron for boys and 10(A) Girls Battalion for Girls.[30]

National Service Scheme

The college has a NSS division.[31]

Sports & Games

VVIT play ground has the facilities for games like Cricket, Volleyball, Tennicoit, Badminton, along with athletic events while Chess, Table tennis and Caroms are played in the indoor arena.[32]

Annual Celebrations

Every year college festival with name VIVA is celebrated, generally in the month of December. Inter-college competitions are held in sports,literature,cultural and in technical areas. College day is celebrated following the Inter-college festival every year.

VIVA VVIT & College Day 2015-16

VVIT's inter-college festival VIVA is celebrated on 21 and 22 of December 2015 for the academic year of 2015-16. Nearly 5,500 participants took part in various competitions held during the festival. Vignan University's chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah presided over as the chief guest. College day is celebrated following the festival on 23 December 2015
