Veernala Jayarama Rao is an Indian classical dancer and choreographer, known as a leading exponent of the dance form of Kuchipudi.[1] A disciple of renowned dance maestro, Vempati Chinna Satyam, he has formed a duo with his wife, Vanashree Rao, and the couple has performed in many places in India and abroad.[2] He is a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, which he won jointly with his wife, in 1998.[3] The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2004,[4]
